Health
In Rajasthan, poor hygiene and sanitation practices in rural areas are a cause of much concern as
they have immense consequence on health. Rajasthan is India's largest state, with an estimated population of 54.6 million, spread over its 41,538 villages. In Rajasthan 70 % of its population (about 35 million people) are dependent upon ground water for drinking and irrigation purposes. Maternal health, Female Feticide and Infanticide, Child Health, HIV, Drinking water quality, open defecation, School & Anganwadi Sanitation, mindset of people towards sanitation are key issues in Rajasthan. S.R.Society is working in the field of health since 1995.The organization is focused on organizing health camps and funding of a rural health clinic.

The organization supports the revival of traditional health practices. We believe that ensuring sound health can ensure the continuous development of the population and the nation as well.
SR Society is playing the role of Mother NGO in Nagaur district where the organization is running different health activities with Government agencies.

With the support of ZilaParishad, 200 toilets have been constructed.

Water Filter plant has been installed in the government school of Jaisinghpura village.

The goal of S.R. Society’s health- and sanitation-initiatives is to improve men, women, and children’s physical welfare and subsequently secure rural communities’ long-term socio-economic well-being.

S.R. Society has kept health as a priority in the health mandate, and has been active towards making the society aware about HIV-AIDS. In this context the society has done a number of activities, including awareness program of students of schools across the state, e.g. in Kota.

The organization’s health and sanitation interventions address HIV-AIDS, Nutrition, Safe Drinking Water, Hygiene and Sanitation, Traditional Health Systems, Capacity-Building of rural health workers and Reproductive Health by means of food support, Health Clinics, Awareness camps, health melas (gatherings), Ayurvedic medicine trainings and the formation and strengthening of MahilaSamities (women’s committees).

The organization has conducted various trainings on health issues in collaboration with ASHA under ASHA Sahyogini training scheme to spread awareness on institutional delivery.

With the support of ANM, our organization is spreading awareness for vaccination. Resulting in increase in percentage of vaccination.

The organization is determined to expand its work in this field of trainings and we are planning to provide more deflouridation units because this is a big problem in the nearby villages of Jaipur. We are also looking forward to Safe Child and Mother Campaign.
